Toronto artist Beckie Di Leo balances a career in teaching and painting and has recently added live fashion illustrations to her repertoire. Drawing inspiration from popular culture, graphic design, street art and fashion, Beckie’s work has a contemporary and stylish flare.
Combining her love of dance, performing and painting, Beckie has sparked a trend in “Live Painting” inspiring other artists to follow in her footsteps. As a fashion enthusiast, Beckie’s work and live illustrations depict a whimsical, gestural quality with a cosmopolitan stylization.
Beckie is a committee member and practicing artist with Toronto’s art collective.
With over ten years teaching experience at Central Commerce Collegiate, Beckie has developed an inspirational and unique curriculum to engage inner-city youth. Her position as Arts Head has provided an opportunity to collaborate with local artists who in turn, work directly with her students through the TDSB “Specialist High Skills Majors” Program. When not teaching + painting, Beckie is involved with the successful arts collective Walnut Studios.
Beckie’s distinctive talent has landed her a spot on Oh So Cosmo and an Esquire and a Vitamin Water commercial spots. Beckie has been featured in a variety of blogs and magazines – both online and print. Her work is highly recognizable and her commission client list includes:

Residing in West LA for a year, Beckie had the opportunity to paint and teach drama at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Acting Academy. She has found her niche in the city of Toronto but will always aspire to travel and seek out new inspirational and opportunities to dance with Prince on stage.
